Andrew Belford

“When I think of the art of law, a quote from Leonardo Da Vinci comes to mind: ‘One can have no smaller or greater mastery than mastery of oneself.’ Framing the practice of law like an artform highlights the importance of creativity and constantly improving your craft.”

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” – Thomas Edison

Before stepping into the courtroom, Andrew built his career on the front lines of healthcare working as a nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic, where precision, empathy, and resilience were non-negotiable. After earning a nursing degree and working through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he transitioned to law with a focus on advocacy, resilience, and client care. His experience spans hemodialysis, public health, and case management which are all skills that now inform his thoughtful, client-centered legal practice.

Andrew earned dual Canadian and American law degrees through the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy’s Dual JD Program. During law school, he balanced academics with leadership roles, research, and clinic work, including time at the Juvenile Appellate Clinic. He joined Scarfone Hawkins LLP as an articling student and now returns as an associate, where he focuses on Small Claims Court proceedings and contributes to civil, commercial, employment, and corporate litigation matters.
